Indianapolis is the the capital city of the State of Indiana and the 12th largest city in the United States. Indianapolis means "Indiana City". The city is situated in the Central Till Plains region of the United States. Indianapolis is endearing and delectably accessible with its famous speedways, and its White River State Park.

Located in the heart of Indiana, Indianapolis is at the crossroads of America. Indianapolis is considered as a business-oriented city with companies ranging in both scope and size. Indianapolis is served by 13 interstate highways and 12 major airlines. From Conner Prairie to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to the Indianapolis Children's Museum, the city has something for everyone. The city has an area of 361 square miles.

At the center of the city there is One-Mile Square which is bounded by four appropriately-named streets: East, West, North, and South Streets. Indianapolis has a humid continental climate. Summer can be hot and sticky in Indianapolis. The winters are frigid due to the northern polar air with an average of 26 degrees Fahrenheit in the month of January. Late spring and early fall are usually considered as the most pleasant seasons.

The Indianapolis is also known as “The Amateur Sports Capital of the World".

The city's clean and safe downtown makes it a great place to spend your leisure time. The city has many great restaurants. For those beginning or continuing their higher educations, the region has several colleges and universities. Indianapolis is home to Butler University and Indiana University Schools of Medicine and Law. The city also has number of private and public schools. Eleven unified public school districts in Indianapolis provide education services within its boundaries.
